strawberry rhubarb agrodolce
yields 1 pint (2 cups)

1 1/2 cups sherry vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup rhubarb, cut in half lengthwise and sliced thinly, or a bias (crosswise at a 45 degree angle)
1 cup strawberries, cut thin lengthwise
1 tsp soy sauce
salt to taste

1. combine vinegar and sugar and summer on medium to low heat for about 15 minutes until the mixture reduces by half.
2. add strawberries and rhubarb, season with salt and cook until tender.
3. add soy sauce
